In the last few weeks, since the announcements of the interim results and the appointment of Jeff Burnige as the Chairman elect, there have been a number of cases of senior players and management speaking to the press and other media about alleged broken promises and about being unsettled by the imminent change of Chairman and the ongoing requirement to reduce costs. It seems likely that at least one or two senior players may be sold in the summer and replaced by cheaper and/or younger players. It certainly seems unlikely that any more experienced players will be coming to the Den.

The Lions Trust Chairman, Bob Asprey, was nominated by the Trust Board to join the Millwall Supporters Club committee, and has been successful in doing so. With the likelihood of significant changes to the relationship between the Club and its supporters, under the leadership of Jeff Burnige, the main objective is to try to ensure that there is full and proper consultation with the supporters in how these changes are made, and to ensure that the roles of the supporters and shareholders organisations (and in particular the Lions Trust) are understood. Secondly, it is a gesture of solidarity with other Millwall fans.
